One of the veterans, Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) member Nick Morgan was trampled by a police horse and knocked unconscious. The police waited until after he regained consciousness to arrest him...

New York, NY - September 25, 2007. The NYPD arbitrarily canceled the Arrest Bush rally's sound permit an hour early (in response to the civil disobedience?) which precipitated an ad hoc march from Dag Hammarskjold to Washington Square. An additional arrest at Washington Square provoked a standoff between protestors and police which eventually ended when protestors moved into the park.

STATEN ISLAND N.Y. -- June 07, 2008. The annual Staten Island Gay Pride march moved into the streets this year. Initially the NYPD refused to issue a permit to Staten Island Stonewall. Organizer Jim Smith told NLN that City Council Speaker Christine Quinn intervened and the PD relented.
