Recorded in 1984 for my PBS series, "Austin Pickers". Townes talks about his Dad, learning to play guitar and "jams" with his baby boy...and does The Boss.
The complete video - Interview and performance. Shot by me in 1984. The interview took place in Townes' backyard and the performance was shot in a club with Townes' band a few days later. This vid is from my 1984 PBS series, "Austin Pickers".

The late great Blaze Foley live in Austin, 1984 from my PBS series, "Austin Pickers". Blaze wrote this song a long time ago...but it could be about today!
I am so very proud to say Mickey Newbury was my friend. Shortly before his death in 2002, Mick invited me up to his home in Oregon for his final gathering of friends. These four songs are his final public performance. He wasn't at his best...but it's still PURE Newbury.

This is a clip from another film I did in China, "Dance Kids In China" in 2002. These are highlights of the world famous Beijing Acrobatic Group. Pretty cool stuff!

The great Joe Craven filmed live in Redding, California in 2002. Joe can play ANYTHING. When he's not doing session work or onstage, Joe's in schools spreading the gift of music to children. Remarkable talent...Remarkable man.

Monkey Mountain in Henan, China is truly a magical place. It is without a doubt my favorite spot in China. My son, Chris and I have visited the monkeys there many times and I've shot a lot of video there. They know us now by sight and welcome our arrival. It could have something to do with the goodies we bring them...fresh fruit, fruit juices, peanuts and peanutbutter.
