Moose Jaw City Council passes a pay raise for non-union employees based on faulty arguments in a report containing 8 errors. The most compelling argument from the councilors was that Mcdonalds and Tim Hortons did it, so should we. Too bad that wasn't in the report.
The pay raise which wasn't budgeted took effect only 7 days after the vote.
Moose Jaw Council wants another $60k for a 2nd multiplex location study. The REAL location issue? Where's the $27 million shortfall? Another 20 weeks of environmental studies means there is no way they can fulfill their promise of having a facility that meets WHL standards by 2009 season.

Council successfully refers this to budget committee to discuss it away from the public knowing if curling is dying it will affect their $63 million hockey rink and curling ice project.

Just two meeting ago she argued we should build downtown because it is already serviced. Now that it has to be deserviced at 6 times the cost, she decides that money is no object.
The vote goes one way but the Mayor believes another interpretation. He's so clear on this hidden understanding he reiterates this lucidity 21 times. Who needs a vote, minutes and public record?
Everyone is talking about Chilliwack. Moose Jaw City council wants to compare themselves to Chilliwack, B.C. to copy their Prospera Centre design to replace the aging Civic Centre. Chilliwack is twice Moose Jaw's size and undergoing considerable growth.
