A vague parody of The A-Team in the vein of The Naked Gun and other spoof classics much funnier than this. Jay Neander and I were co-directors of photography on this project while at SIU. It was the first project we shot on the Panasonic HVX200 DVCProHD cam, and it was made for SIU's student produced variety show alt.news 26:46.
Retelling of the old Hook camp fire tale, the popular urban legend about the hook killer at lover's lane. I co-directed this short with Jay Neander. Shot on DVX100A with a budget of $150 for SIU's student magazine show alt.news 26:46. Lots of favors pulled on this one.
Here's a segment from alt.news my friend Carla Cozzi produced and edited. I was a videographer and goat frightener. Fainting goats are a crazy breed of goat that stiffen up and fall over like they are dead when you scare them.
Here's a segment from SIU's student produced magazine show "alt.news 26:46." I was one of the lead videographers and sort of co-produced this piece with Jay Neander. This segment was featured in the 2006 Student Emmy-winning episode of alt.news. Andrew W.K. is an awesome fellow and was terrific to work with. This was the first version of the piece that aired on PBS in November 2005.
Nintendo music band Minibosses on SIU's student produced magazine show "alt.news 26:46." I produced, directed, and edited this piece, along with creating the graphics. Shot at The Double Door in Chicago, IL in Sept. 2005. Special thanks to Aaron and the rest of the Minibosses for letting us shoot their show and being great to work with. A second edit of this piece is coming soon.
A segment from alt.news on the underground sport of parkour, aka free running. My friend Jared Kagel produced and edited this piece, and I was a videographer using the Glidecam system. This piece was shot in various locations in Chicago, including Loyola University
A behind the scenes look at the short film "The Hook." The film and this segment both aired in an episode of alt.news 26:46 in May 2005. Kyle Tekiela, who also stars in The Hook, produced and edited this piece.
A blooper reel from alt.news episode #702, with some goofy extra bits from your friend, Andrew W.K. "alt.news 26:46" is a student produced magazine show that airs on PBS in southern Illinois.
The zombies return for one last bash...
Note for Heinz: This is a re-upload of this spot, with significant blurs added covering all non-Heinz products. This spot should now comply with the contest rules.
The Canadians have launched a nuke at Illinois and only the Illinois Missile Defense Chief and his crew can stop it. I'm not normally an actor, but my friend Jay Neander asked me to star in this "Naked Gun" style short he wrote and directed and I can never refuse playing the part of a moron.
A program id from SIU's student produced magazine show "alt.news 26:46." I co-produced this ID with Keith Kilcoyne. Shot on a DVX100A, editing done with Final Cut Pro. Graphics done with Adobe After Effects. Starring Marty and Chuck.
