Michael McDowell flips after hitting the turn 1 wall at Texas in qualifying. After seeing this, I truly thought he was dead. Kudos to NASCAR for all they've done for safety.
Tony Raines gets loose of turn four and gets into Jeff Gordon. Gordon slides through the grass, comes across the track, collects AJ Allmendinger, pounds the wall, and goes airborne, but stays for the most part upright.
Jeff Gordon and Denny Hamlin lead the field to the green flag for the 2007 running of the Pepsi 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. On lap 4, Jeff Green pushes up into Kasey Kahne, causing a small two car wreck.
Jimmie Johnson benifets from a race ending caution for the second race in a row to win and close the championship gap to 9 points. Carl Edwards finishes second, with Reed Sorenson third.
The caution came courtesy of Dale Earnhardt. Jr, who crashed hard and collected Jamie McMurray after a tire came off his car.
Kyle Busch holds off Juan Pablo Montoya and Denny Hamlin to win at Talladega. A caution for a multi-car crash stopped the race with half a lap remaining.
In a race determined by fuel mileage, Casey Mears wins, running out of fuel after taking the checkered flag. JJ Yeley came home second, followed by Kyle Petty who got his first top 5 since 1997, Reed Sorenson, and Brian Vickers. All five drivers posted their best finish of the season.
Elliot Sadler comes across the nose of David Gilliland and spins into the wall. Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Dale Earnhardt Jr, and others are collected.
Jeff Gordon spins with less than two laps to go, giving the lead to Tony Stewart. Carl Edwards is pursuing Stewart, and on the last lap, Edwards overdrives turn ten, dropping to eighth place.
