One day after I videotaped a picket of Scientology, my neighborhood was covered with leaflets smearing me. Shortly after, two Scientologists showed up at my home to picket me.
3/26/00 - When members of the LMT held a small picket in front of the Ft. Harrison Hotel in Clearwater, they were quickly outnumbered by Scientologists who had been holding a meeting in one of their buildings. The Scientologists try to provoke an incident to get us arrested.
7/2/99 - I attempt to shoot a little video of a Scientology event and am surrounded by three Scientologists who try to intimidate me with a Scientology technique called "bullbaiting."
5/14/07 - After Panorama's brilliant expose on Scientology, Mike Rinder does damage control for the cult while former member Bruce Hines tells the truth.
1982 - The son of Scientology's charlatan founder appears on a morning show to debate a Scientology spokesman, Robert Vaughn Young. Young would leave Scientology a few years later and also become a vocal critic of the group.

3/20/06 - After South Park did their scathing show on Scientology, Tom Cruise applied pressure on Paramount to try to make the show go away. At first, he succeeded but when MI:3 did not do as well as expected, Cruise got the boot and South Park was back.

Andreas Heldal-Lund, the webmaster of the most important site critical of Scientology (www.xenu.net) came to L.A. to visit from his home country of Norway. When Andreas joined a picket, he was greeted by a Scientologist with a camera who wanted to interview him. I taped virtually the entire encounter.

5/24/83 - Hubbard Jr. was suing to have his father declared dead. Actually, Hubbard Sr. was in hiding after his wife and ten other top Scientology officials were sent to prison for covert ops run against the US government. Robert Vaughn Young speaks on Scientology's behalf although a few years later he would leave Scientology and speak out against its fraud and abuse.
