Lots of local fish scrounge around the sandy bottom looking for their next meal. This large mantis shrimp had a close encounter with a hungry spotted snake eel, and lived to enjoy another day in Cabo Bay.
My 1st underwater encounter with a magnificent humpback whale and it's baby daughter. Shot at Roca Partida Island, Mexico on May 2, 2006. See my dive photos at: http://www.flickr.co m/photos/87522608@N0 0/
Cuales leyes, cuales instituciones, cual democracia. Porque tenemos que aguantar al Peje-ndejo y su pequeño grupo de "simpatizantes" pagados con la simple excusa, "disculpen las molestias"?
A friendly group of dolphins joined during several dives at the Socorro islands, Mexico, and one group did some hunting for early breakfast. I was hoping to catch the moment of the actual kill but the big eye jacks were playing hard to get. Many thanks to the staff and crew of the Solmar V for the great dives and service.
Many species of Rays play in the waters of Cabo San Lucas Bay, Mexico. The eagle rays I think are the most beautiful of the whole bunch. These 2 were having a good time chasing each other around the camera.
A very good year will end soon, hopefully 2007 will be even better. From the friendly sea lions of the Sea of Cortez and myself, best wishes for everyone.
Generally very shy, this southern stingray was in a feisty mood. Reminded me of the recent accident of Steve Irwin. Amazing how quick things can happen with some wild animals.
These shy eels normally stay hidden under the soft sandy bottom at depths of 20 - 60 ft, away from the touristy dive sites. The scent of fresh fish brought these two eels out to hunt for an easy meal.
