I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This video is of baby squirrels play fighting each other, going up their rehabber's pant leg, nibbling toes, climbing brick walls, bathing, losing their balance, playing with fingers, and other squirrely activities. These squirrels have all been successfully released back into the wild as adults at this point.
A wildlife rehabilitator's squirrels wrestle on the screened porch. These squirrels have all been successfully released back into the wild as adults at this point.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This is Shakespeare, a 5 week old baby squirrel receiving her first solid food. As you can see, she simply gums her cheerio just like any baby would! Luna is the 4 week old baby squirrel with her eyes closed that gets in the way of the camera. These squirrels have both grown up to adulthood and have had a successful release back into the wild at this point!
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. A baby squirrel (Raven) following his instincts tries to hide a nut inside a towel. This squirrel has been successfully released back into the wild as an adult at this point.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. A baby chipmunk (Acorn) uses a hamster wheel, then tries to figure out where the noise is coming from when a baby squirrel chews on her cage! Both the chipmunk and the squirrel have been successfully released back into the wild as adults at this point. The children noises are from kids playing on the ball field at the school next door.
A HARMLESS hickory horned devil caterpillar! (turns into a regal moth.) It has no stinger, does not bite people, is not poisonous, is not dirty, etc. It eats tree leaves only. That is my adult hand in the video, and my 9 year old daughter laughing in the background.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. One of my squirrels is getting over an injury so he tried to hide behind their porch nestbox to eat a nut... and got discovered! Since their nestbox is in front of a high window, I was able to film the skirmish from inside the house through the glass. **These squirrels have now been successfully released back into the wild.**
A hickory horned devil caterpillar (turns into a regal moth.) I think the squirrel I'm rehabbing thought the caterpillar was her formula syringe since he is long and skinny, she kept trying to take him.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This baby squirrel is just trying out its digging and hiding skills... but it definitely needs to keep fine tuning them. This squirrel has been successfully released back into the wild as an adult at this point.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. My rehab squirrels think the desk my great-grandfather made is their personal apartment complex. They love to jump in and out of the cubbies, but here they are enjoying a buffet of nuts. These squirrels have all been successfully released back into the wild as adults at this point. The children noises are from the school next door.
