Video showing the construction of a typical spark-gap type Tesla Coil. There was a lot of information and I couldn't cover everything in this video. So there will be more in a part 2. But this gives some basic info for building a Tesla Coil.
This is Part 2 of my video describing how to build a typical spark-gap type Tesla Coil. I had to split the video into two parts to upload it on YouTube. Be sure you watch Part A before this one!
A short video with a demonstration of my homemade vacuum tube. I made the tube several years ago, when I first started experimenting with ionized gases and tubes. This little PLASTIC tube has survived a power of over 900 Watts without any damage (while holding a vacuum)!
A short video showing the "corona wind" or "ion wind" generated by high voltage. The terminals of a 15,000 volt transformer are connected to an adjustable gap, and the gap is set just wide enough that an arc can't pass. But watch what happens to the candle when I switch on the transformers. Notice the sparking as an arc tries to connect.
A sort of reflection on a few of my interests, with pictures and videos I've taken. As you can tell, I'm especially interested in high voltage! But I take pride in being curious about the world around me and have a lot of interesting hobbies. Hopefully it shows in this video! Be sure your sound is turned up. Thanks for watching.
A video of my Tesla Coil, showing a bright corona from 100,000 volts at high frequency, and also a simple demonstration of the strong corona wind generated by the high voltage.
This is a video I made from an awesome space flight simulator called "Orbiter." You can download it for free. I'm flying the Delta Glider XR-1, a futuristic concept spacecraft that you can also get for free as an add-on. This video is from takeoff all the way to reaching a stable Earth orbit. Hang on, ejoy the ride, and thanks for watching!
This is me, doing what I do best...playing with electricity! This is 15,000 volts at 60 milliamps (900 Watts) from a set of two neon transformers connected in parallel.
