I erred in not mentioning Rand's reductio ad absurdum argument against a "sense-invalidity" one:
1) Using my senses, things can appear different than they are.
2) Senses that don't pick-up things just as they are, aren't to ever be trusted.

Therefore (using a method that can't be trusted), it follows that senses err.
