While snorkeling in the waters off Hate-no-hama Beach in Kume-jima of Okinawa, Japan, we spotted a medium sized (about 3 feet long & body thickness of 3 men's index fingers) snowflake moray eel (white base coloration & some black & yellow pattern) looking for some prey among the rocky coral bottom.
We spent a sunny morning watching the Haarii (aka Dragon Boat Races) on the 2nd day of the "22th Seaport Chatan Carnival" on Sunset Beach in Mihama, Chatan-cho, Okinawa, Japan
4 Jun: Paul playing with (aka throwing around) his 1 yr old son Landon in Norwalk, OH while Jessi, Betsy & myself sit around & watch & talk. Landon also demonstrates his newly acquired ability to sign "more".
5 Jun: 2 yr old Aiden playing outside in Bowman, SC. First, he attempts his "bicycle + training wheels" before turning his attention to the water hose & then to a neighbor's cat.
Labor Day Weekend Trip: I spotted & followed a squid while we were snorkeling off a Pacific beach along Hwy 70 on the eastern coast of Northern Okinawa, Japan somewhere near Sosu Village.
On our 3rd of 3 SCUBA dives of the day off the northern coast of Tokashiki-jima, largest of the Kerama Islands, due west of Okinawa, we soon spotted a group of what turned out to be at least 5 sea turtles & the 14 divers from our boat quickly began to photograph & film & enjoy their serene beauty & movement.
2nd video that we shot with a cell phone of the fireworks from the 1st night of 2 for the "22th Seaport Chatan Carnival" going on just across the bay from us at Sunset Beach in Mihama of Chatan-cho, Okinawa, Japan. Wish I had started shooting earlier as the stuff spread across the water at the beginning was huge & amazing, but I missed most of it. Oh well!

5 Jun: 1 yr old Landon playing outside in the yard with a running water hose in Bowman, SC. He seems to particularly enjoy spraying & laughing at reactions.
We spotted a really cool jellyfish swimming along briskly not long after beginning our snorkel adventure off a nice quiet beach in Higashi-son on Okinawa's northeast coast. The striped fish swimming along with it seemed to be a protector of some kind, as he lunged at my camera a few times before returning to his spot beside the tentacles.

Labor Day Weekend Trip: I observed a pair of Wedge-Tail Reef Triggerfish (Rhinecanthus rectangulus) roaming the area while we were snorkeling off a Pacific beach along Hwy 70 on the eastern coast of Northern Okinawa, Japan somewhere near Sosu Village.
We were informed that there would be fireworks across the water from us at Sunset Beach in Mihama, Chatan, Okinawa, Japan (after being surprised the previous night) but we still weren't up on the roof when they started.
