We spent a sunny morning watching the Haarii (aka Dragon Boat Races) on the 2nd day of the "22th Seaport Chatan Carnival" on Sunset Beach in Mihama, Chatan-cho, Okinawa, Japan
2nd video of the 2nd night of fireworks across the water from us at Sunset Beach in Mihama, Chatan, Okinawa, Japan in celebration of the 22th Seaport Chatan Carnival.
On our 3rd of 3 SCUBA dives of the day off the northern coast of Tokashiki-jima, largest of the Kerama Islands, due west of Okinawa, we soon spotted a group of what turned out to be at least 5 sea turtles & the 14 divers from our boat quickly began to photograph & film & enjoy their serene beauty & movement.
I was out riding my bike in Chatan, Okinawa, Japan when I saw these employees at a Toyota auto mechanics shop down the road doing some sort of group exercises (calisthenics? tai chi?). Just part of the corporate/group focus here in Japan/Asia - we see employees at other establishments (retail, medical, etc) do similar things, some at opening & some at closing time.
2nd video that we shot with a cell phone of the fireworks from the 1st night of 2 for the "22th Seaport Chatan Carnival" going on just across the bay from us at Sunset Beach in Mihama of Chatan-cho, Okinawa, Japan. Wish I had started shooting earlier as the stuff spread across the water at the beginning was huge & amazing, but I missed most of it. Oh well!
On our 1st of 3 SCUBA dives on the day off the northern coast of Zamami-jima in the Keramas (Okinawa, Japan), we captured this video as we swam thru a long crevasse in the reef & discovered its secrets.
After our birthday tour of southern Okinawa from 1000 feet, Aero Club pilot Brian touched the plane down as smoothly as silk on Kadena's runway just after an AV-8B Harrier did so on an adjacent runway.
While babysitting 2yr old Cayce for our friends & neighbors, the Nielsens, we were alerted to the sight & sound of fireworks in the night sky outside. Turns out they were part of the festivities of the 1st night of 2 for the "22th Seaport Chatan Carnival" going on just across the bay from us at Sunset Beach in Mihama of Chatan-cho, Okinawa, Japan. So we snapped some camera phone video.
On our 3rd dive of the day off of Tokashiki's NE coast (just a bit north of the ferry port) we spotted a sea turtle swimming so I increased my speed & captured some cool video.
To better understand what the kids deal with on the horses to better apply principles of physical therapy, Betsy rides feisty mare "Pepper" after a session of hippotherapy on the Yomitan peninsula (near Maeda Pt) in Okinawa, Japan.
4 Jun: Paul playing with (aka throwing around) his 1 yr old son Landon in Norwalk, OH while Jessi, Betsy & myself sit around & watch & talk. Landon also demonstrates his newly acquired ability to sign "more".
5 Jun: 2 yr old Aiden playing outside in Bowman, SC. First, he attempts his "bicycle + training wheels" before turning his attention to the water hose & then to a neighbor's cat.
All kinds of reef fish were attracted to the convenience store sausage that a guy we met gave Masayo to feed them while we were snorkeling. Even Aaron couldn't resist swimming in for a bite!
