The first tune is Gordon Goodwins "Jazz Police". There is a gap between the ending of JP and when Lou Soloff comes in. Too much of that great Cardinal Beer from Fribourg. Some great players in this band at the Fribourg Switzerland Jazz Festival!

Guset artist with the Fribourg big band Lou Soloff. Also a great trombone solo by Dave Montreuil. I really enjoyed the whole group while at the Jazz Fest.
This video was taken on 2/28/05 at a gig for the French food company D'artagnan, hence the French "theme" of the video. Lou Soloff is the first trumpet player you see. Joe Giorgianni is the second. If you don't know who these guys are, google them.

This was the millenium concert in Las Vegas.
Some would consider the trumpet section as a dream section (Lew Soloff, Jerry Hey, Gary Grant, Warren Luening). I definetely would...
This is really tight playing.
