Ekiben are special lunches available at Shikansen and sometimes other stations featuring local and seasonal food from that area. Most of the time the food is cold but now there is a bento that will heat itself! The yakiniku or gyudon bento is available at many stations and usually features beef raised in the local area or Australian beef.
