40% Sugar and 60% Saltpetre = 20 seconds of excitement. Lots of smoke came out of this one. You can not see all of it, but I am going to do another one soon, and try to get a better shot!

Me and my buddy decided to make a short video to demonstrate the combustion properties of Saltpeter (Potassium Nitrate) and Sugar. It is a very easy experiment you could do in you back yard for a couple of bucks. We used approximately a 1:1 ratio this time, putting the contents of 12 oz. of Saltpeter with the mix of equal sugar into a coffee can. This is the result of that mixture.

This isn't my video, so I hope the owners don't mind me posting it. This rocket was powered by an engine filled with sugar and saltpetre (potassium nitrate). It flew to around 2600 feet and settled back down with no problems. I'm looking for info from the owner to give due credit.
