The chopper pilot rushed to get to the scene to meet the cop car but came in too hot, flaired too hard, and got a tail strike. Fortunately everyone survived and the scene was used in the movie even though it wasn't scripted. (based on the account of a friend of the crop-dusting pilot and on a separate occasion, a friend of the director here in San Diego)
