Nasa's Glast space telescope will explore the Universe with "gamma-ray glasses".
This means the spacecraft will capture only the highest-energy form of light.
It will examine some of the most extreme events in the Universe.
It will search for giant black holes that hurl matter across space and dense neutron stars with powerful magnetic fields.

NASA's Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, or GLAST, arrived Tuesday at the Astrotech payload processing facility near the Kennedy Space Center to begin final preparations for launch. Liftoff of GLAST aboard a Delta II rocket is currently targeted for 11:45 a.m. EDT on May 16.
