Geometrid caterpillar (Colotois pennaria ussuriensis?) found on an oak tree (Quercus serrata) on mid-May, 2007 in Japan. At first it mimicked a twig. When its cover was blown, it was on the run by inching.

This inchworm (a larva of the Geometrid moth) crawled onto Mary this morning when she was out by our honeysuckle. She brought it indoors and placed it on a clear plastic lid on our kitchen counter for me to photograph and video. After its modeling session she misted the worm (it seemed to appreciate the water) and returned it to the honeysuckle.
