Bataan, the Phillipines. Thousands of American and Filipino soldiers surrenderd to the Japanese forces on the Phillipines in 1941. On the so called Bataan Death March, thousands of them died, many died in the following years in the POW camp. In 1945 after 4 years of horror, the Americans decided to finally liberate the camp and free the soldiers they left behind.
