The voyage to France of Tenzin Gyatso, better known as the Dalai Lama, has drawn plenty of comment, good and bad. Loved or loathed, at 73, the Nobel Peace Prize winner likes to present himself as a simple Buddhist monk. But he has become a global celebrity.
