When Portland Oregon opened the Westside MAX, its Washington Park stop became North America's deepest subterranean transit stop at 260 ft below ground. Portland was also the first city in the US to use low floor cars, a standard today (trimet.org). Also there are clips from the Bones-n-Brew event that took place on the same weekend as the Westside MAX grand opening.
On this particular weekend I went to Mt Bachelor there was this halfpipe competition for grommets. First time ever to see little groms in a halfpipe contest.
Located in central Oregon, Mt Bachelor is about 3 hours from Portland and 22 miles from Bend. The ski area faces east and towards the dry desert area of eastern Oregon, making the snow unbelievably dry, light and powdery.
