Moose Jaw City Council passes a pay raise for non-union employees based on faulty arguments in a report containing 8 errors. The most compelling argument from the councilors was that Mcdonalds and Tim Hortons did it, so should we. Too bad that wasn't in the report.
The pay raise which wasn't budgeted took effect only 7 days after the vote.
(video correction) Feb. 11, 2008 - Moose Jaw City Council under police protection for the first time in decades. Hillcrest curling requests $33,000 to cover the shortfall plus increasing the subsidy again.
Council successfully refers this to budget committee to discuss it away from the public knowing if curling is dying it will affect their $63 million hockey rink and curling ice project.
