Another 40 minute tape, condensed down to 8 minutes. Stuff with Mike and a lot of stuff of Jovantae (cleanest flip tricks ever). Lots more of EMB culture stuff with Mike Carroll interviewing peeps at EMB. Enjoy.
I found some old raw footage from some Plan B Virtual Reality sessions and felt like putting them up. The footage made me nostalgic, so I now share the nostalgia.
Karma's part in this video was Epic, he did 180 ollie to 50/50 the hard way, switch front foot impossible, tons of tricks wayyyy ahead of the times. Great skater.
Wade had an epic part in this video going faster than anyone at the time and blowing doors on street, vert and mini. The gap he did is still one of the tallest I have ever filmed... great fun.
This is from the 1989 after the Powell Quartermaster Cup. We went to a school near Goleta and filmed then went to another school and filmed some more. I will post the other school clip later. But for now, enjoy Guy and Gabrial when they road for Powell and a shot or two of Frankie Hill/
In homage to Cardiel tributization on Epicly Later'd, I thought I would put up some raw footage from a Mini Ramp session I filmed with John up in Grass Valley/Lake of the Pines for the Venture or Dogtown Video back in 1990. Cardiel was one of my favorite skaters to film, all around great person.
Frankie, Gabrial and Frank H skating San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara. It's always fun watching Frankie and listening to his slang. There's a lot more of this, but this was a fun session, for sure.
This is stuff I shot of Rudy around 90/91. After a Powell demo we sessioned a bench at Sunnyvale's Fish Banks then within a year or so during the time they were filming Video Days, I shot with Guy and Rudy at Berkeley's Tennis Court Banks.
Footage from a filming session at Mervyn's in San Jose back in 1990/91. This is when Salman first got on Real Skateboards, after he broke his arm for the first time. Vintage Nollie-Manuals and shove-its galore.
I'm not sure if this was the original opening before we did the split screen, but this is what I found when digging through the crates.
This is 13 years ago and it's still a sick montage of the best skating.
These are a bunch of old clips of Guy when he rode for Powell and then when we were filming for the Blind Video, Video Days. They used to knock people for raising their hands after a trick... but you gotta let guy off the hook for that. The demo was in Sunnyvale, CA.
Jovantae could have been one of the greatest film critics the world has seen, however he decided to keep his criticism within the realm of skate videos. Here is a classic clip of Jovantae talking you through John Reeves and The Donger's part in Soldier's Story (The Life Video).
After a long day of skating and editing we retired to my colorful den where Greg quickly fell asleep. We then proceeded to crank call him from another phone in the house, just to film him get woken up by the phone.
Merry pranskters were Jason Adams, Myself and Johnny Farrar
