I made the right turn looking for lines leading to the Cargill Fertilizer Plant in Ridgewood, FL. The busy line runs parallel to SR60 and has quite a few feeders and primary lines crossing it. Quite a diamond in the middle of the road at the intersection of Phosphate Blvd, 2nd and Church just south of SR60 in Mulberry.
Here's a mixed freight SB at the Ocala, FL Station diamond. Trying for a different shot, I set up looking south at the line that further down runs in the middle of NE Osceola Ave (and ends near Maricamp Rd in Silver Springs Shores- aka near my childhood home).
Haven't learned the name of the line from Robinson Street to Mt. Dora, but here's the shot of the FCRR NB on that line. Lots of deliveries along the route on what turned out to be a very busy Sunday.
Caught a CSX empty auto carriage train NB on the A-Line at Marks Street crossing in Orlando, FL. I was taking some pics of the remnants of the "Dinky Line" tracks and was awarded this bonus at the end of shooting.
After making it to Plant City and the famed double diamond of the "A" and "S" Lines, I was lucky to get a northbound Amtrak on the "A". My first video, so I left as much natural sound as I could as it approached.
Orlando's A-Line is going through a massive overhaul for rails, crossings and signals. Here's a group of CSX employees on 12/4/07 on their way to Winter Park to work on a crossing. Lack of expertise, but not sure why all vehicles could trigger the crossings. I saw a few wrecks almost occur for people not paying attention to the crews.
A few auto haulers are bakced into the Taft Intermodal Yard south of Orlando. The facility may close in the next couple of years to relocate to south of Winter Haven.
After the NB Tropicana Train cleared, along came a NB Amtrak. I tried a zoom the whole time, so it's a bit different than I usually shoot. It's not like I don't have 4 Amtraks a day to get, so I thought I'd experiment. Enjoy!

First of the day (and the year) on 1/5/08 is one I seem to cross paths with regularly. SB Tropicana train thru Wildwood heading home. I saw a railfanner on County Road 131 (Lee St.) just north of Wildwood Yard catching this one too.
Had a rare weekday off and was in Plant City. Caught the Tropicana train northbound for a change on the S-Line. Traffic on the rail lines may not increase in Plant City and Lakeland (for those who care or don't know) due to Orlando's commuter rail plan failing in the FL Legislature. But there are plenty of trains anyhow.
Due to the previous train taking so long to add cars at Wildwood, all NB trains backed up causing a barrage within minutes of each other. This is the second and also a long train NB thru Ocala.
