Just a bit of fun, a ham fisted mauling of the famour old children's song. I never understood why we would need to go alone, or in disguise though. I mean we all know what bears do in the woods. It doesn't sound like a fun theme for a picnic. Anyway! standard tuning.
No go diggy die! This...ahem...song comes from Jon Wayne's first CD "Texas Funeral" which I am in no way recommending to anyone as it is offensive, badly played, and just plain drunk. However I like this song. I put together a little video which consists mainly of people hurting themsleves for your amusement. Ain't no country I know!
I have a deep love of Dan Reeder who I think is something of a genius. I also have a deep love of old pictures. And cowboys. It all sort of came together here. Just some nice old photos set to one of my favourite Dan Reeder songs. This song is from the Sweetheart CD on OhBoy records.
An old children's song, written by Henry Clay Work in 1876, just before I was born. I used to find this really sad when I was little, and if it came on the radio I had to leave the room before I blubbed. "The Blizzard" by Jim Reeves had exactly the same effect on me!
Another blast from my past. A demo by the Cherubs set to a bunch of clips, with thansk to Ivan Bridgewater from the Internet Archive (http://www.archive. org/index.php) Recorded in early eighties in Glasgow with Christine & Graham and produced by Kenny MacDonald. I tried to upload it in stereo using an flv format and it sounded HORRIBLE, in capital letters...so glorious mono it is. Hope you enjoy!
Messing around on a Sunday afternoon. This is an old traditional folky troubador type song. I picked it up from a version played by Tom Ball, and if there's anyone out there who knows how to play the chorus the same way that Tom plays it, get in touch! Tom Ball's an amazing guitarist, check him out if you get a chance. I did ask him how he did it, but he couldn't remember....:)
Abide with Me is based on John Renbourn's version, Down to the River is just me messing around. Dedicated to me old friend munchinmac. Dropped D tuning.
A short and somewhat bittersweet piece, whose full title is actually "You'll be licking your Furry Butt in Heaven (if I catch you doing that in my Garden again)". It's dedicated to a large malevolent grey cat which delights in leaving items of software in my tiny back garden. Cute Overload, I don't think so.
