Tickle Me Elmo meets the Bride of Chuckie!! (From the psychiatrist's couch years later...) "That laugh! That EVIL LAUGH!!! That's all I kept hearing....!!!" Some toymakers sure had some strange ideas in their day..!
A rare, early dark-haired Nancy just about to turn the ultimate corner to coolness from her earlier album attempts! Here she sings "So Long Babe" and is nearly bowled over by the energetic dancers surrounding her!
Notice those big eyes peeking over in to the camera? Was it camera shyness or being naturally flirty? You decide! :-)
Lovely Lana Cantrell is back again (and hopefully she'll STAY here this time!!). Doing a lovely colorful and very 1960s appearance on Hollywood Palace!
OK folks! Forget those cheesy 70s appearances on Love Boat & Fantasy Island! THIS is what this world champion hot pepper is all about! Charo does a fabulous Flamenco Guitar number with the band. She doesn't stop there either with her classic "Kuchee-Kuchee" after the song...at least until Sammy Davis Jr. calls a halt! :-)
A very mellow take indeed, but looking lovely and soft, Ms. Sinatra gives a nice performance of this folksy number. I notice in her early TV show appearances those big brown eyes had a tendency to peek over in to the camera on close-ups! :-)
The "Marvelous Marilyn Maye" wows them with another crisp, fantastic rendition of a standard done a hundred times already but makes it beautifully her own! I just love her! :-)
Very chirpy falsetto notes in this twisty tour of Paris in the early 1960s! Ever so cute Audrey sings & swings with many lovely landmarks like the Moulin Rouge behind her. Then a girl like someone's mom dances in skimpy attire in the end! Gotta love those Scopitones!!
Now that's what every singer should have as a backdrop!! A giant silhouette of an artistic squiggle that lights up when you start to sing! If I could sing I'd INSIST upon it! Enjoy charming Joanie singing a not-so ordinary song with a wonderful style! :-)
EZ High Fidelity listening at its best, folks! Thought I'd throw in a few visuals to go with it! Note - no animals were harmed in the making of this clip show were they stretched, flipped or blown up!! :-)
By "Special request" and courtesy of my wonderful source of much video merriment, here is the full episode of "intructional dance steps" from the girls of yesteryear! Check out the man phoning the one girl to "request" a dance step!! I'LL BET!! :-) His wife next to him looks like that poor neglected Clairol Loving Care wife! :-(
Until my friend & I knew who she was we just nicknamed her "The Bikini Lady"!! He showed me this clip years ago and it just HAS TO BE SHARED HERE!!
In case you're counting the fun, that's a total of five bikinis she wears for the number plus a "one-piece"! The other girls you can count for yourselves! :-)
Three singing greats combine their voices for a "Fab Four" tribute "For those that thought young"!
First listed as Paul Anka, but Frankie! Those two did look somewhat alike in their day! :-)
Not usually adding singers, for this special Christmas song it was recorded with the girl singers "The Bookeneds"! Cute as can be!
Capitol Records, 1961. J. Kruger/H. Gilden
Same basic peppy dance girls from "Queen of the House" with their bright Mary Tyler Moore toothy smiles! :-) But now wearing swishing horsie tails too!
